Modern Bedroom Decorate Ideas

Oak and Cherry Meet Deep Red
This feng-shui bed is by Mazzali, an Italian furniture company focused on sustainable and eco-friendly designs.  The mesmerizing wall art and sheer screens pull the room together into a true Zen alcove.

Inviting Guest Bedroom
Green is considered most restful to the eye, while brown has been called the most nurturing color. This relaxing color combination (spiced up with fun patterns and funky lamps) creates an ideal sanctuary feel.

Bright and Light and Tidy
This stark, high-ceiling bedroom is transformed into a bright, youthful children's room with rainbow hues and girly stencils. The next challenge: teach the kid to keep the room this tidy.

Beach Getaway
This bedroom achieves its seaside aura with calming paint colors 'Woodlawn Blue' and 'Navajo White', both by Benjamin Moore. The bamboo blinds top of the room to make it feel like a true Hawaiian getaway.

Purple Wave
This cream-and-purple room achieves a unique aesthetic with two-toned wood furniture and a funky throw blanket. We especially love the wave effect on the otherwise-bland wardrobe

Maple Graphite Bedroom
This bedroom design is the true look of "modern chic". The shiny graphite hardwood floor is a statement in and of itself. The low bed and dark leather couch are accented nicely with a retro portrait and muted blue walls.

Square-Off
This contemporary bedroom plays off sharp lines to make rectangles the heart of its design. The incongruent headboard, checkered wall decal, and wraparound dressers all flow together in rectangular unison!

Slate Style
This sleek bedroom aesthetic works because its steel tones are accented by inviting, lighter hues. The pale-rose bedding, champagne dressers and luminous, open light fixtures make the room feel warm rather than industrial.

Orange Oasis
This hippie-retro-chic room marries coral hues with light-bamboo wood for a warm, earthy effect. The floor-to-ceiling wardrobes flanking the bed make the space feel like a nook in a '60s home.

Kid's Hideout
With this hideout bedroom, your kid won't be tempted to build a makeshift fort of sticks and sheets in your dining room! With the elevated sofa-bed and mini nook in the corner, the possibilities of fun to be had are left up to your little adventurous one.

Through the Looking Glass
A glass wall separates the bathroom and airy bedroom in this countryside home. For privacy's sake, a white curtain can be pulled across the transparent divider. If we had that rustic backyard, we would keep the interior simple, too.

Color Burst
It only takes a few easy fixes to add punches of color to a basic space. Seafoam green walls? Check. Floral canvas print? Check. Gem-toned quilts? Check. Finish it off with a statement rug and let the colors do their wonders.

Rockabeye Bed
Modern lines come in all shapes and sizes -- and sometimes they're not lines at all. This curved bed and lounge chair give the space an organic, unstructured feel. The "Emiselene" bed is by Mazzali.

European Home Decoration

Pictures of European Home Decoration

Each country in Europe has a style of interior design unique to itself. Check out these pictures for inspiration on which style best fits your taste.

Blinkdecor is an online guide to home decorating and renovating. The site features vendors who carry contemporary and mid-century modern furnishings, as well as vendors who offer renovating products. Traditional French decor tends to look very grand, ornate and colorful.

Italian design centers around earthy colors and usually looks much more rustic.

Spanish decor also uses warm, earthy colors and prints to create a hacienda style.

English interiors are more floral and often more feminine than other European styles, using light colors.

Anteo Home – Los Gatos Fine European Home Decor Imports

Anteo Home - Los Gatos Fine European Home Decor Imports
At the corner of Santa Cruz Avenue and Main in downtown Los Gatos, Anteo Home has quickly become the local source of choice for fine European home goods and furniture.  Founder, Jennifer Noto, searches near and wide for unique items that bring a little European charm to your home.
Anteo Home - Los Gatos Fine European Home Decor Imports - Milk Bottles
She and her partner travel each year to the world famous Maison&Objet, the ultimate European trade show in Paris, France, where over 70k international design professionals travel to find the latest in European home style to find items to stock their shops around the world.  Field trip, anyone?
Fine french linens are one of the shops hallmarks featuring Vent Du Sud, designed to bring the feeling of the South of France to your home.  “Fine linen is perfect for dressing up any table and can immediately set the mood of a room,” says Noto.
What are among Noto’s favorite items?  Her collection of fine shea butter soaps and candles, featuring Gianna Rose Atelier line.  I especially loved the little duck and the three little pigs!  Exploring the Anteo soap and candle section was like finding hidden treasures in a gorgeous antique linen closet.  The shop also carries reproduction furniture imported from France.
Anteo Home - Los Gatos Fine European Home Decor Imports - Glassware
My favorites?  The real and reproduction milk bottles, italian wine glasses and stem wear.  Noto pointed out the real vintage French glassware was actually smaller than the reproductions.  Americans love French style, but want them bigger.  Go figure, I always need more room for ice cubes!
Anteo Home features items from Comptoir de Famille, a line of home decor accessories and furniture inspired by life in the French countryside.  Noto remarked that customers often share stories of how the water glasses, linens or cutlery are reminiscent of trips taken to Provence and Marseilles.  You haven’t had the luxury of going?  Just step foot in the shop and pick up a little inspiration

Creative Home Office

We ran accross this listing for a bungalow in West Hollywood and we thought, how cute!  Bungalows like this are all over in Los Angeles, and this is such a creative way to convert a garage or a guest house into a creative studio or a home office.

Take a look:

Favorite Room of the Day-Neutral Bedroom

We like colors most of the time, but we like neutral, quiet colors some of the times too.  It's calming, it's serene, and if you are surrounded by colors and patterns all day long like we are, it's a nice respite.

That's why we're liking this room today.  It's a little boring to some people, but aggh, sometime that's just what you need...

Modern Architecture Done Right

We think it's really hard to do modern decor.  You can't really hide anything. Everything has to be just so--ie, the right color scheme, the right lines, the right spacing...

Here is a sample of some beautiful modern decor from the real estate section of the Wall Street Journal.  This house is made of glass and steel.  We just love the simplicy of it it, don't you?

Matlida's Market

Cute little bottles from Matilda's Market

Today I went to Matilda's Market at the Hawthorn Townhall. I really had no idea what stall holders would be there as I read about it briefly on  beautiful  A-M's blog and thought to myself Off to Market Again...Yippee! And of course, I met up with A-M again and I think we didnt stop talking, admiring and gooing over the most exquisite homemade baby items under one roof. I was also very fortunate in meeting A-M's friend Rachael who just happens to be the  organiser  of the whole Matilda's Market. To be in the company of such very talented women just makes my Sunday morning perfect!!!!
I bought these 6 little gorgeous bottles for my kitchen shelf and both A-M and Rachael told me the best flowers to put in them are the 'weedy' type you would find in your garden. I would like to put herbs in them I think but these stems from a native bush we have look just as pretty. Oh...when Mr B saw the bottles, he immediately went to the local Italian supermarket and bought me the same 6 little bottles with the orange nectar in them. Now I have 12 and intend to use them for my childrens parties next week!

So, who watched The Block last night? Later I will post my impressions about the end result. All I can say that Amie and Katrina, you have both been wonderful throughout the whole series...good things come to good people. Keep Strong, lots of hugs and kisses!

Home Sweet Home...

This is my favourite room. When I walk upstairs its the first thing I see, my gorgeous home sweet home cushion from Heartfire at Home. Linda is the owner of this beautiful blog and as soon as I saw this cushion, I just knew I had to have it and exactly where it was going to go!

You may also notice my other cushions on the green couch...they look okay for now but have been recycled so many times, on different couches. I still want the yellow and navy blue look but for now, they still look pleasant and I have to stop this cushion fetish I have at the moment.

So, that's all for now, Blogger is driving me crazy and will not let me set my margins correctly, pictures disappearing and unable to highlight text for links! I am just hoping it is one of those things and everything will be back to normal....very soon!
Oh! and of course I have been watching The Block every single night for the last 8 weeks! I actually got to see Amie and Katrina's home and Rod and Tania's on a day nobody else was there. All I can say is that both houses are just gorgeous and I wish all the couples the best of luck for the coming auctions.

Upholstered Bed-Favorite Item of the Day

We found this bed at the Las Vegas market last week and we just loved it!  It has the right mixture of wood and fabric.  The classic style will never go out of style.

The bed can be customized with different fabric and nailheads.  Pricing is not so bad, about $2200 for a king.  The lead time is about 4-6 weeks.

We'll be posting this item in our upholstered beds section today so check it out!

Very, Very Glamorous Chandeliers

We saw these chandeliers from DK Living and OMG, they're gorgeous!

Can you see them in a really cool, glamorous decor? Something a little dark and sexy perhaps?

The chandeliers are surprisingly not that expensive.  They range between $1000-1500 .  We will be posting them up in our chandelier section within a day or so...

Lighting Bling!

The two lights above the kitchen bench need to be changed into something BLING!

When we first built (it has been over 2 years now, there were a few decorating decisions that just had to wait. The ceiling lights above the bench was one of them. i just couldn't focus on what lights we wanted so the decision got postponed until now. I want something that is unique, something that is the WOW factor...a bit of bling. It doesn't matter if it's modern or older style, as long as 'it works' overall.

I love this french light with a passion but would it work in a kitchen? I don't think the dimensions are big enough for my space but I can still sigh and look!

Bell Chain Pendant...Cape Cod Designs

Maybe something more like this? Modern style lighting is not working for me at the moment. Any comments about the lights above my kitchen bench will be greatly appreciated. Mrs B xxo
